Verena Trautwein-Maranger was born in the northern German town of Hannover.
From her early childhood, she was visually inspired by color and form.
Already as a teenager, Verena discovered her passion for jewelry and started to collect beads and learn how to make beaded jewelry. Her international family background, prolific travels (Europe, Asia, Africa, North America) as well as long-lasting stays in the Republic of Ireland, France, Spain, the U.S. and Canada have formed Verena’s multicultural approach in her jewelry-making.
In addition to her jewelry business, Verena pursues her other passion, photography (see Verena Photography).

You can choose from a vast number of designs and can be sure that each hand-crafted piece is one-of-a-kind.
This is ensured both by the individualistic design and fine materials of each piece. Verena likes to “combine different worlds” in one piece of jewelry in order to give it a special, personal and unique energy. Also, materials are mixed: glass with plastic and sea shells, metal with pearls and semi-precious stones, resin with wood and seeds... to create "tension", energy and, yes, fun!
As every individual is unique, Verena wants to make you feel special, have fun, play with new shapes, colors and materials and maybe discover new sides of your own personality.
Beads have played a significant role in all cultures and throughout history. They have been an elegant adornment, a convenient type of money, and a talismanic charm that can bring luck or ward off evil.Jewelry was also used for purely worldly purposes, indicating economic and social status, ranks in government and as an object of exchange in trade. Jewels were and are still used in meditation, offering, and curing; all activities are aimed at bringing about a change in our mental or physical condition.
Verena uses high-quality beads/stones, findings and stringing material (Soft Flex®, Beadalon®) in her creations.
The lampworked glass beads, Raku and clay beads are hand-made by Verena or by different artists in Canada, the U.S., the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain. Verena also supports charitable projects buying beads which are made by local artisans in Kenya, Uganda, Tibet, Nepal or Vietnam.
